About Green Country UFO:
Green Country UFO ( Ultrasport Flyer's Organization) is one of the oldest ultralight/light-plane organizations in the nation. Each year GCUFO members participate in numerous fly-ins, airshows and other aviation events in and around the 'Green Country' Oklahoma area.
Our primary goals are to facilitate and promote the safe construction and operation of Ultralights and Light Aircraft. Followed of course by fun, fellowship and flying. We are equally motivated to share a collective knowledge base that spans many decades and to learn from anyone with knowledge to share with us. The old saying applies, "One pilot has not the time in his life to repeat all the mistakes the old pilots have already made!"
Instruction is available through chapter members who are FAA CFI's using certified aircraft or USUA or EAA BFI's using 2-place ultralight trainers. Our membership also includes dealers for manufacturers of Ultralight, Experimental and Sportplane kits or ready-to-fly models of many popular designs.
Monthly meetings of Green Country UFO are conducted at various airport/airpark locations in the Tulsa metro area. Meetings are held on the third Saturday of every month usually at 1:00 pm and begin with a pot-luck lunch. Fly-ins or drive-ins are equally welcome. For information about our next meeting, check the meeting notice or call the GCUFO FliteLine at (918)632-6UFO.
Annual chapter membership dues of $20 includes the monthly newsletter and a nametag. Current membership in EAA is also required to retain voting priviledges or to hold any Chapter office.
